Hong-Yuan Chu, PhD received his PhD from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, followed by postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Mental Health/NIH, Bethesda, and Northwestern University, Chicago. Chu, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology at Georgetown University. The research in Hong-Yuan Chu, PhD’s lab focuses on the neural circuit mechanisms of motor and nonmotor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease (PD), aiming to design better therapies for patients with PD. In today’s seminar, Hong-Yuan Chu, PhD, will present recent findings on cell-subtype- and synapse-specific alterations in the motor region of the cerebral cortex using mouse models of Parkinsonism.
