Carmen Falcone is an Assistant Professor at Towson University (Maryland, US). Her research focuses on the role of astrocytes in the evolution and development of the cerebral cortex of vertebrates. She is also committed to mentor students and to build open and inclusive science: she is a co-founder of Astrocyte Cafe, a growing community of astrocyte researchers worldwide.
